A metaverse is a virtual world that exists on the internet. It is a shared space where users can interact with each other and digital objects. It is often used for gaming, social networking, and other online activities. The term was coined by science fiction author Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel Snow Crash. In the book, the metaverse is a three-dimensional virtual world that is the successor to the Internet. In the metaverse, humans are avatars interacting with each other in a digital space by the involvement of augmented reality, game consoles or VR headsets. 

Metaverse is a persistent, online virtual world that is built on the foundations of the real world. It is a place where people can meet, interact, and do business. It is often compared to a virtual world like Second Life or an online game like World of Warcraft, but it is much more than that. Metaverse is a platform that allows users to create, buy, sell, and trade digital assets.
